At K-Jack RV Rentals, we’re here to help you have an amazing RV adventure. Below are some of the most common questions we receive. If you don’t find the answer you’re looking for, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly!

Booking & Reservations
  1. How do I book an RV? The easiest way to book is through our website’s online booking system. *Enter your dates. *Scroll through the RV’s in the booking engine. *Choose the RV that is available for your dates. *Choose your ADD ONS which includes the delivery charges and pet fees. THESE ARE THE ONLY ADDITIONAL CHARGES. EVERYTHING is included in your nightly fee. It’s set up just like booking a hotel. If you have any problems please feel free to call us directly at 250-954-0795 and leave a detailed message. Someone will get back to you as soon as possible and always within 24 hours.

 

  1. What is required to make a reservation? To secure your reservation, we require a damage deposit of [e.g., $500] at the time of booking. Full payment is required at time of booking. The damage deposit will be refunded via e-transfer within 24 hours of check out after the inspection. 

 

  1. What is your cancellation policy? Our cancellation policy is as follows:
    • You have up until 30 days before check-in to cancel for a BC Provincial Park Reservation ONLY
    • 14-30 days before check-in you will be issued a credit and your reservation will be unblocked
    • NO REFUNDS 14 days or less before check-in
    • Any other cancellations are on a case by case basis.

 

  1. Can I change my reservation dates? Changes to reservation dates are subject to availability. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to modify your booking.

 

  1. Do you offer one-way rentals? Generally, we don’t offer one-way rentals. All RVs must be returned to our Qualicum Beach location.

 

  1. Do you offer long-term rentals? We do not offer stays of more than 28 days in the peak season. We do offer weekly rates in peak season.
  2. Winter program rates apply from October 1st to April 1st.
Eligibility & Requirements
  1. What are the age requirements to rent an RV? Delivery: The primary renter must hold a valid credit card and be 19 years of age. Pick-up:  A valid drivers license is required for pick up and minimum of 25 years old. You must have a truck that is capable of towing at least 8000 lbs. 

 

  1. What kind of driver’s license do I need? A valid provincial (or state) driver’s license from your country of residence is required. An international driving permit may be recommended for international visitors, but isn’t typically required if your license is in English.

 

  1. Do I need special insurance? No, you do not need special insurance. ICBC coverage is provided on all units.

 

  1. Are there any restrictions on where I can take the RV? Our RVs are designated for RV parks only, preferably full service sites. Driveways at the customers homes are acceptable to provide short term space for guests. 
RV Types & Self-Pickup
  1. Do you have motorhomes for rent? No, not at this time. Our fleet currently consists of travel trailers.
  2. Do you have pop-up tents or tent trailers? No, we don’t. We specialize in fully-equipped travel trailers, all over 28 feet in length.

Can I pick up the RV myself instead of having it delivered? Yes, you can! However, this option is only available if you have prior experience towing a trailer, possess a properly sized truck with sufficient towing capacity for the specific RV you are renting, and have the correct tow ball. All of our RVs require a 2 5/16” tow ball. A copy of your driver’s license will be taken on pick up.

Delivery & Pick-up
  1. What time can I expect my delivery? Check-in time at most parks on Vancouver Island is 1 PM. We do our very best to deliver and set up your trailer at that time. During busy periods, our delivery could be as late as 4 PM. If you’re concerned about your drop-off time, please text 250-954-0795.
  2. What if I can’t be there for the delivery time? That’s perfectly fine! Every RV unit has a lock box located at the main entrance. Your keys will be safe in there, and your unit will be all set up for your arrival. The code will be sent to you via text. Please ask if you haven’t received it or if we happen to forget to tell you!
  3. What time do you pick up the trailer? Check-out time is strictly 11 AM, especially during peak season. Please have all your belongings removed from the trailer by 10 AM, and we’ll arrive at that time to pick up the trailer.
  4. Where do I pick up and return the RV? As a delivery-focused service, we typically deliver the trailer directly to your booked campsite or designated location on Vancouver Island. If you’re opting for self-pickup, please refer to the “RV Types & Self-Pickup” section above for requirements.
Included Amenities & Services (Premium Stress-Free Glamping Experience)
  1. Will the fresh water tank be filled before my delivery? Yes, absolutely! Your RV’s fresh water tank will be filled for you prior to delivery, ensuring you’re ready to go.
  2. Will the batteries be fully charged? Yes, the RV batteries will be fully charged upon delivery to ensure all systems are operational.
  3. Do you provide a generator? Yes, we provide a generator with your rental as part of our premium experience, allowing you to have power when camping in a BC Provincial Park.
  4. Do you provide camping chairs? Yes, every rental comes with two comfortable fold-out camping chairs and one fold-out side table for your outdoor enjoyment.
  5. Do you provide an outdoor mat? Yes, an outdoor mat is provided with your rental to help keep the inside of the RV clean.
  6. Do you provide linens and bedding? Yes, we do! Every rental comes with one fully made queen-size bed, complete with premium pillows and waterproof protectors. Please note, we DO NOT provide sleeping bags for children or extra bedding for additional guests. As we don’t currently charge for extra guests, we kindly ask that you provide any necessary additional bedding for them.
  7. Does the rental come with bath towels? Yes, every rental comes with four large bath towels and washcloths, along with kitchen towels and dishcloths.
  8. Do you provide pots and pans? Yes, every rental includes a space-saving, stackable set of pots and pans with removable handles, making cooking convenient.
  9. Does the rental come with utensils? Yes, every rental comes with the basics required for cooking and serving food, including at least four sets of spoons, knives, and forks.
  10. Does the rental come with plates? Yes, every rental has at least four plates, cereal/soup bowls, and sandwich plates.
  11. Does the rental come with bowls for mixing or salads? Yes, every rental is equipped with bowls and a colander, perfect for mixing, serving salads, washing vegetables, or straining pasta.
  12. Does the rental come with cleaning supplies? Yes, every rental comes equipped with a broom, a mop with a removable and reusable floor duster, environmentally friendly cleaning products, cleaning rags, rubber gloves, dish soap, and other useful cleaning products to help you keep the RV tidy during your stay.
  13. Should I strip the bed? NO, you should not strip the bed. This only creates more mess and confusion for our housekeepers. We need to know that everything is still there so by just leaving the bed as is, we can complete the inspection for your damage deposit return quickly! Please place used towels and cleaning cloths in the shower. 
  14. What should I do with garbage and recycling? Please use your park facilities for ALL garbage and recycling. Ask your park host where their facilities are located.
  15. Do you provide shampoo and conditioner? No, we do not.
  16. Do you provide dishsoap? Yes, and all cleaning supplies and garbage bags.
  17. Do you provide a BBQ? Yes, and a complimentary tank of propane gas for the BBQ.
  18. Do you provide a propane firepit? Yes, please check your park rules for usage. Some parks do not allow any type of firepits.
  19. Do you provide salt and pepper? No, we do not provide any food or drinks.
  20. Do you provide tea and coffee? No, we do not provide any food or drinks, but we do provide a coffee maker with filters in every unit and a kettle.
  21. Do you provide drinking water? No, we do not provide drinking water. Please bring your own bottled water.
  22. What do I do if something is wrong with my rental unit? Ie, no hot water? Please call 250-954-0795 right away.
RV Features & Usage
  1. Does the RV have air conditioning? Yes, our RVs are equipped with air conditioning! However, its operation depends on your campsite. If you rent a full-service site with a proper electrical hookup (e.g., 30 amp or 50 amp), then yes, the air conditioning will work. If you rent an unserviced site (without electrical hookups), the air conditioning will not function as it requires significant power that cannot be supplied by the RV’s batteries or standard portable generators.
  2. Can I go “number two” in an RV? The short answer is yes, you can use the RV toilet for all purposes! However, we prefer that you be thoughtful to the next renters and the delivery driver by using the RV Park facilities for those “messy jobs” whenever possible. This helps us maintain the highest level of cleanliness and ensures a smoother turnaround for everyone. Thank you in advance for your consideration!
  3. What is included with my RV rental? Everything is provided for a glamping trip. Please refer to the above questions for what is NOT included. 
  4. How do the water and waste systems work? Please refer to the Renters Guide provided in every RV. It is understood that you have done some basic research before your check-in. Please note that the RV black tanks are emptied and rinsed twice, with an environmentally friendly  additive, AFTER EVERY RENTAL. This is a strict policy maintained by all drivers of K-Jack. Sometimes the indicators will tell you that the black tank is full. This is simply a bit of toilet paper on the sensor. 
  5. Can I bring my pets? All of our RV’s are pet friendly. A $75 steam cleaning charge is added for dogs only. No cats. 
  6. How often are the RV’s cleaned? Every RV has a 24 hour window before and after each rental so that housekeeping can clean, disinfect and stock each RV
  7. Is smoking allowed in the RV? No, all of our RVs are strictly non-smoking. A significant cleaning fee will be charged if evidence of smoking is found. Cannabis should be stored in your private vehicle.
  8. What about mileage limits? Mileage for delivery is included in your delivery fee.
  9. Do you deliver to Gabriola or Hornby Island? No, our delivery service only includes Vancouver Island.
  10. Do you deliver to free camping spots? No, we do not, it must be a registered RV park.

Do you deliver to my driveway? Yes, we will deliver to your driveway to provide your home guests with their own private bedrooms. Please make sure there is enough room for at least 40 feet and the slide out.

Payments & Fees
  1. What payment methods do you accept? We accept most forms of major credit cards. Our credit card processor is STRIPE.
  2. Is there a damage deposit? Yes, all rentals have a $500 damage deposit assessed at time of booking which will be returned within 24 hours of check out and inspection via the email on your file.
  3. Are there any additional fees I should be aware of? Potential additional fees include:
    • Delivery fees (USE ADD ONS FEATURE IN BOOKING)
    • Cleaning fees (if RV is not returned clean)
    • Pet fees USE ADD ONS FEAATURE IN BOOKING (if applicable)
